Daytona Beach, FL – No charges are pending after a 32-year-old motorcyclist crashed into a van on Bill France Boulevard, dying at the scene.

Juan Antonio Ortiz Capaldo had “several traumatic injuries” from the accident, which happened around 5:30 yesterday afternoon (October 9th) at the Concept Court intersection near Keiser University.

Daytona Beach Police Department spokesperson Lyda Longa says Ortiz Capaldo was on a Yamaha heading south on Bill France when the driver of a Ford van turned left onto Concept.

“Ortiz Capaldo crashed into the rear left side of the van,” Longa added.

The driver of the van – 55-year-old Glenn R. Hughes – wasn’t hurt and left the scene in his vehicle after DBPD traffic homicide investigators completed their work.
