DBPD Investigating Triple Shooting That Injured A 12-Year-Old & Killed A Man

Daytona Beach, FL - Update: The man who was fatally shot during Saturday’s triple shooting on Jean Street has been identified by the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD). After being found in front of 609 Jean Street, 37-year-old Donald Leo Cottle was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 11:35 PM by hospital staff. DBPD has also indicated that the 12-year-old involved suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.

Earlier Reporting: The Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) is investigating a triple shooting that occurred at the 600 block of Jean Street in Daytona Beach on Saturday night. At around 10:36 PM, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. An investigation revealed that the shooting occurred as a result of an argument between three adult men. Two of those men were shot and a 12-year-old boy was also shot as he was walking through the parking lot. DBPD believes the boy was caught in the crossfire. One of the men was shot in the shoulder and taken to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was treated and released. Another shooting victim died at the scene. The 12-year-old boy was first taken to Halifax Health Medical Center and later transported to Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women and Babies in Orlando where he remains for treatment.
