Daytona Beach, FL - A Daytona Beach woman was arrested after police say she beat up another woman at a gas station after they both drove up to try to use the same pump. Police responded to the Kangaroo gas station located at 799 Bill France Blvd. in Daytona just before 5:55 PM on Tuesday. A woman who drove a red Chevy pickup truck told police that another woman, 24-year-old Alexis Grier, hit her in the face continuously after the two women tried to pull into the same gas pump. The two women stopped their vehicles in order to avoid a collision, according to police records. The woman in the truck backed up in order to allow Grier to use the gas pump, but Grier got out of her car, began yelling and cursing at the other woman to move her truck, and banged on the truck's driver's side door. The woman in the truck got out and told Grier that there was enough room for Grier to use the pump. Grier then grabbed the woman's arm, grabbed her by the hair, and began hitting the woman in the face, Daytona Beach police say. Employees rushed out and put a stop to the altercation. The woman got into her truck and left the area, but when she discovered that one of her front teeth was loose, she returned to the gas station. According to Daytona police, the woman also had bruising to her left eye and her left temple and small lacerations and scratches. She declined medical treatment on scene. Grier tried to flee the scene in her car, and she crashed into another vehicle. She was taken into custody and is charged with felony battery.
