Daytona Police Arrest Man Who Is Wanted On Several Violent Gun Charges

Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police (DBPD) arrested the man who was wanted for nearly a year on several violent felony charges and is considered by DBPD to be one of Daytona Beach's most wanted felons. 30-year-old Ricardo Watson was arrested at about 7:39 AM on Tuesday after he was spotted by a detective who recognized him in front of a home at the 700 block of Flanders Ave. in Daytona Beach. Watson led the detective on a brief foot chase, and the detective found Watson hiding in a shed behind a home at 710 Flanders Ave. Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Air One and a K-9 unit also arrived on scene, and Watson was arrested without incident DBPD says that Watson has a history of gun violence in Volusia County. He faces at least 11 charges, including aggravated assault with a firearm, principal aggravated battery, shooting in a dwelling, and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail without bond.
