Daytona Beach, FL - The mother of three little girls is now behind bars after police say she left her kids unsupervised in her apartment for over an hour.

23-year-old Brittnay A. Freeney was booked at Volusia County Jail yesterday (August 16th) on three felony counts of child neglect. She's held on $7,500 bond or $2,500 per charge.

911 calls placed from a phone inside Freeney's apartment sent an officer to the scene for a well-being check, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department arrest report. That's when the officer found Freeney's children inside, ages 3, 1 and 10 months. The location of Freeney's apartment was redacted from the report.

The Volusia County dispatch system received around 15 calls from the apartment before the DBPD officer arrived, per Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Andrew Gant.

Dispatchers were not able to get anyone on the line to talk to them and all they heard were what they thought were children playing with the phone and what sounded like a child crying in the background, per the DBPD report.

The eldest child answered the door when the officer knocked, coming to the door wearing nothing but a blue T-shirt. The report also shows that the officer found the 1-year-old in the living room with a blue T-shirt and a diaper so full that there was brown-colored liquid coming out of the sides.

DBPD says the 10-month-old was found sleeping on her stomach in an adult bed inside one of the bedrooms, but the officer noted that the bed had no side railings to prevent the child from falling to the floor.

Freeney returned to the apartment around 20 minutes after officers arrived but told them she had only been gone for around 10 minutes, per the report. She also said she had left the apartment to get food from her sister.

Officers fed the two eldest kids with water and potato chips after the eldest said there was no food in the house, per the report.

Freeney's kids were handed over to her sister after the Florida Department of Children & Families approved it.
