Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Housing Authority's Executive Director, Anthony Woods, will speak at LPGA International on January 12 to discuss the need for affordable workforce housing in Volusia County.
The discussion is part of the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce's Eggs & Issue breakfast program. The program will address the rising cost of housing and why Volusia County is vulnerable since 57% of renters in Volusia County are "cost-burdened," or pay more money for rent and utilities than they can comfortably afford, according to the Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce.
"Volusia County ranks 15th among the nation’s 382 metro areas for the most burdened renters. Within Florida, Volusia County ranks second among nine regions, while having the lowest median income for renters (only $30,000 annually), with a median monthly housing cost of $963," says Chamber Government Relations Vice Chair Bart Leek.
The discussion will take place from 7:30 AM to 9 AM at the LPGA International Clubhouse at 1000 Champions Dr. in Daytona Beach. The cost for the program is $15 for Chamber of Commerce members, $20 on the day of the event, and $30 for non-members. You can RSVP for this event by going to
