Daytona Beach, FL - A Daytona Beach firefighter is hurt following a fire early this morning at an apartment building on Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard.

First responders went to the scene on the southeast corner of MMB and Desoto Street around 3:15 a.m., across from the Pine Haven Apartments.

Daytona Beach Fire Department spokesperson Sasha Staton says two floor units were damaged by the flames, with the cause likely being electrical.

"The fire was found in a first floor unit," Staton added. "No occupants were injured."

The firefighter's injury required a trip to the hospital by ambulance. DBFD didn't release any other specifics other than to say it wasn't burn-related.

It's not clear what caused the injury or how serious it is. It's also not clear who the firefighter is.

The American Red Cross is assisting four adults who were living in those units.
