Daytona Decriminalizes Marijuana Possession

Daytona Beach, FL - Marijuana possession in small amounts has been decriminalized in the City of Daytona Beach.

That's one of the decisions made by the city commission during last night's (April 17th) meeting, one which was made without much comment by city leaders during the meeting.

Commissioners agreed to change the city code so that police cannot send anyone with 20 grams of marijuana or less to jail as well as any sort of related drug paraphernalia.

Violators won't get off totally scot-free, though. They could face a fine which can't go over $500.
