Daytona Beach Condo Sales Soar In October

Daytona Beach, FL - Condo sales in the greater Daytona Beach area soared by more than 35% in October.

The newest report from the Daytona Beach Multiple Listing Service (MLS) showed 129 units were sold around the Daytona Beach area in October. 95 units sold in October 2017.

The median sales price also went up by 9%, even though it is an 11.5% drop compared to this past September, according to Ron Wysocarski with Wyse Home Team Realty in Port Orange.

"If you look at the last two years, we have had incidents of hurricanes, which has avoided us this year," Wysocarski added. "So that has certainly kept the buying funnel moving forward. The other thing is just more available inventory."

Inventory issues have stabilized this October, with MLS reporting 1,042 united made active on their listing at some point during last month.

That's up from the 1,031 listed on the MLS in September, and it's a notable increase from the 932 that were active last October.

"We anticipate the area will enjoy stable condo market conditions through the end of the year," Wysocarski said.

Year-to-date figures show that 1,329 condo and condotels have been sold with the median sales price at $208,000. That's a price rise of just under 10% and an overall sales rise of 4% compared to YTD numbers from this time last year.

1,273 condos and condotels were sold for a median price of $189,300 at this point in 2017.
