Daytona Beach Police Looking For 7-Eleven Armed Robbery Suspect

Daytona Beach, FL-Police in Daytona Beach are trying to identify the armed man who robbed a Mason Avenue 7-Eleven store early Thursday morning. Police say the man entered the store around 3:37 AM and was armed with a BB gun he left behind at the scene.  The police report states that the suspect jumped over the counter and told the clerk to open the register. The suspect pointed what appeared to be a 6 black semiautomatic handgun the clerk.  She opened the register and the suspect took the money.  He then made the mistake of hitting the clerk on the left side of the  face with the gun. The report states the clerk realized the gun was not real and struggled with the suspect.  He dropped the gun. The clerk picked it up and tried to fire at the suspect after he had jumped back over the counter.  He came back behind the register, trying to get the gun back from the clerk.  She was burned when she was pushed against the hot dog roller. The suspect exited the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Security photos of the suspect are with this article.
