Daytona PD Investigating Fatal Hit & Run Crash

Daytona Beach, FL - Traffic investigators would like your help to solve an apparent hit-and-run death overnight in Daytona Beach.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 600 block of North Nova Road near the Ritchey Autos dealership, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

DBPD spokesperson Lyda Longa tells us someone called 911 after seeing a man lying in the street.

"When officers arrived, it was determined that the deceased man had been the victim of a hit and run," Longa added. "A car part was left at the scene and officers identified it as belonging to a Honda."

Officers believe the Honda has front end and windshield damage from hitting the victim, whose identity has not been released by DBPD because next of kin has yet to be notified.
