Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - Officers are trying to find whoever hit a 61-year-old man on a bicycle in Daytona Beach, leaving him to die at the scene.

The Daytona Beach Police Department identified the victim in last night's (September 28th) incident as Bruce Stanley Wilson.

DBPD spokesperson Lyda Longa tells us Wilson's body was found by a passerby around 8:25 p.m. near the intersection of Nova Road and Bellevue Avenue.

"Evidence at the scene reveals that Wilson was crossing Nova westbound about 50 feet south of the above intersection when the driver of the suspect vehicle, who was heading north on Nova, crashed into him in the middle lane," Longa added. "Surveillance cameras in the area, however, did capture the image of a four-door white car with a black stripe running along the driver’s side."

A photo of that car is posted above.

DBPD is asking anyone with information to contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Henry Fulcher at 386-671-5372 or fulcherhenry@dbpd.us.
