Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) traffic was up 5.3% in January, in comparison to last year.

During the month, 54,685 passengers flew in or out of the county-operated airport, compared to 51,932 passengers last January.

For the 12 months ending Jan. 31, total passenger traffic at DAB increased 12.35 percent with 632,313 passengers traveling through the facility last year compared to 710,410 passengers this year. This month marks the 15th consecutive month of year-over-year passenger traffic increases.

“January was another positive month for growth and marked the one-year anniversary of JetBlue in Daytona Beach,” said Airport Director Rick Karl. “Overall, 2016 was one of the strongest years we have seen in the last 20 years. We are very optimistic for a stable level of air service this year, but we’re not expecting the large year-over-year increases we saw last year. Sustaining the market level we have achieved over the past seven years and perhaps obtaining single-digit passenger traffic increases over last year will make for a successful 2017 for Daytona Beach International Airport.”
