Daytona Beach, FL – Daytona Beach came in at number 22 on TripAdvisor’s 25 Most Popular Summer Vacation Rental Spots in the US.

According to TripAdvisor, “Daytona is one of the liveliest, most entertaining beach towns on the East Coast.”

TripAdvisor said that a vacation rental often costs less than a hotel room and shows that Daytona Beach has 975 vacation rentals available. Click here for the information.

Several other cities in Florida also made the list with Panama City Beach coming in at number 1, Destin number 2 and Orlando rates 5th.

“This just comes at a perfect time for us, which is the peak of our summer family vacation season,” said the newly appointed Executive Director of the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), Lori Campbell Baker. The Volusia County Council unanimously voted to confirm Baker to that position on Thursday, July 7, 2016.

“TripAdvisor is such a great accolade for us,” said Baker. That’s because reviews are visitor generated – meaning this list is the result of what people said who have been to Daytona. “That’s not something you can buy,” said Baker. “It’s not part of a media plan or an advertising plan. That’s the grassroots – what are they saying about us.”

Baker also pointed out that the water issues that are plaguing much of the state are not affecting Volusia County. “We have 2 water quality issues within the state of Florida… Neither of those is affecting Volusia County beaches,” she said. “In the panhandle, we have a bacterial issue and in South Florida… it’s an algae bloom.”

Baker recommends visitors and residents go to, which has a schedule of upcoming events, parks, attractions, and “happenings.”
