Daytona Beach, FL-Daytona Beach City Commissioner Patrick Henry has tendered his letter of resignation from his post effective November 8 amid speculation that he will run for higher office.  The City Commission Wednesday night will consider setting a Special Election to fill his seat. Henry’s action comes after months of speculation that he’s considering a run for the Florida House District 26 seat being vacated by Dwayne Taylor, who is term limited.

Taylor served four terms in the state house and is running for the US Congress Florida 6th District where he lives.

That seat was vacated by Ron DeSantis who is running for Senate.
