City Of DeLand Releases Recycle Coach App

Posted
DeLand, FL – The City of DeLand this week launched an app that will help keep garbage, recycling, and special waste collection details right at residents’ fingertips. Recycle Coach™, developed by Municipal Media Inc., is available to all DeLand residents via their mobile device, meaning now residents don’t have to hunt for a printed schedule. Instead, by downloading Recycle Coach™, DeLand residents can check details for where items should go and events such as free shredding days, and more. Through the app, residents will be able to view a calendar that will show garbage, recycling, and yard waste pickup dates, including holidays, based on their address. Users may also sign up to receive reminders about trash pickup days. “With this app, not only will people be able to see their waste pickup schedules but we can teach ourselves how to be better recyclers,” said Public Works Director Demetris Pressley. “The City of DeLand is committed to being a sustainable community as outlined in our strategic plan and we believe this app will help all of our residents become better stewards of the environment.” The Recycle Coach™ app is free to download and it is available from the iTunes Store and Google Play. Later, the app will be available on the city’s website. For more information, please contact 386-626-7190. Photo courtesy of Lenka Horavova and Shutterstock.com.
