Posted

Deltona, FL - Volusia County residents are invited to find out more about child drowning prevention tomorrow night (April 25) during a community discussion with the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Mike Chitwood said that Florida leads the country in drowning deaths of children ages 4 and under.

Chitwood said that representatives for the Florida Department of Health and from the Four Townes Family YMCA will be on hand to answer questions, offer information and connect residents with helpful resources. Several swimming lesson providers will be there to talk about teaching your child to swim.

The community discussion begins at 6 p.m. in the Deltona City Hall at 2345 Providence Blvd. It will be followed by the monthly public CompStat meeting on recent cases and crime trends across Volusia County.
