UPDATE: Good news: Roxie is back home with her owner. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reports that thanks to alert Deltona residents and everyone who spread the word, Roxie is back where she belongs.

Deltona, FL – A 63-year-old Deltona man is hoping that he will get his dog and his car back after his 2017 Kia Forte, with Roxie inside, was stolen yesterday (April 28) from the Deltona Publix at 2100 Saxon Blvd.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office reports that the man had loaded his groceries just before noon, leaving the vehicle running while he returned the shopping cart. When he turned to go back to his car, he saw the vehicle leaving the parking lot.

The vehicle turned left on W. Finnland Dr., heading south, then left on Fairhaven St. before the victim lost sight of the vehicle.

Roxie is a 15-year-old Chihuahua, black and tan in color. The vehicle has Florida license tag DMWN47. If you see the dog or the car, call 911 or the Sheriff’s Office at 248-1777.
