DeLand, FL - DeLand Police are reminding residents that shooting firearms into the air can have serious results after a bullet came through the ceiling of an apartment at The Park at Capri Apartments. Officers were called to the building around 12:15 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 2019).  The report shows that the bullet came through the ceiling and landed on the floor of a unit there.  One of the responding officers climbed into the attic and found that the bullet had entered through the roof before going through the ceiling. No residents reported hearing gunshots prior to the incident.  No injuries have been reported. According to the DeLand officer, Volusia County deputies were responding at about the same time to a complaint about six shots being fired in the vicinity of Lisbon Parkway, which is roughly half a mile away from the apartment complex.
