BCU Board Of Trustees Vote Michelle Carter-Scott Out Of Power

Daytona Beach, FL - A shakeup that was promised about a week ago finally comes to leadership at Bethune-Cookman University.

It was on January 11th that BCU Board of Trustees member Belvin Perry made that promise, and just earlier today it came as the board voted to remove Chairwoman Michelle Carter-Scott from her position.

Perry, who made the initial call to remove Carter-Scott and was one of the biggest critics of Carter-Scott, will replace her as Chair of the board, saying that while she won't be in power, she will still be able to serve on the board.

Perry was brought into power since there was no second or first vice chair on the board. He also promised more transparency with the board and that they will work more with school administration to fix some of the problems within the school.

Interim President Hubert Grimes took to YouTube a couple of days ago (January 16th) to discuss some of those problems and the steps the school has taken so far to correct them.
