Baby Whale Dies After Washing Ashore In Flagler

Flagler Beach, FL - Flagler Beach Police officers and beachgoers worked together trying to save a baby sperm whale on Wednesday evening.

The whale was found around 7 p.m. near the shoreline in the 1600 Block of North Oceanshore Boulevard in Ocean Beach.

The whale was reported to be 12 feet long and weighing about 1000 pounds.

Marineland was contacted to come and get the whale but it did not survive.

The whale died at around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Flagler Beach Police Facebook page.
