Las Vegas Shooter's Brother, Who Lives In Orlando, Says He's 'Dumbfounded'

Las Vegas, NV - 10/2/17 4:00 PM Update: The death toll from Sunday's Las Vegas shooting has risen to at least 58, and more than 500 people have been injured.

10/2/17 9:07 AM Update: The Las Vegas shooter's brother, who lives in Orlando, told police he's completely "dumbfounded" by the incident.

Eric Paddock, the brother of the accused Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, said in an interview, "we are completely dumbfounded. We can't understand what happened."

According to the Orlando Sentinel, records show Stephen Paddock once owned property in Melbourne, but it's not clear if he actually lived there.

Eric Paddock said he would provide further comments at a later time.

At least 50 people were killed and more than 200 were wounded when a gunman in a Las Vegas hotel and casino opened fire on an outdoor country music festival, making it the worst mass shooting in modern US history.

Country music star Jason Aldean was performing on Sunday night at the end of the three-day Route 91 Harvest Festival when the gunman, who was inside the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino across the street, opened fire. The gunman, who has been identified as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock, was killed by police.

Officials believe this was a lone wolf attack.
