Daytona Beach, FL - An armed robbery suspect who stabbed a man and stole his pants is caught by police.

That's the word from Daytona Beach police after they confirmed the apprehension of 35-year-old David Baker on their official Facebook page Tuesday (August 28th).

Daytona Beach Police Department originally responded to Jesse Street and Magnolia Avenue on Sunday (August 26th) close to 1 a.m. in reference to an armed robbery.

It's there that they met the victim who told police that Baker appeared to come out of the bushes. The victim was able to identify Baker, saying he grew up with him and that his sister even dated Baker.

Baker then approached the victim and said: "I kill [racial slur] like you." After making that comment, the victim said he could hear a knife opening, then Baker tried to stab him.

The victim says he raised his hands up to his face to block Baker, taking a stab to his right hand. Baker then punched the victim and used the knife to cut off his pants before taking them and fleeing.

Fire rescue arrived and treated the victim's wound, asking if he would like to be transported to the hospital, to which the victim declined.

The victim stayed at one of the officer's residence for the rest of the night for safety.

Baker remains in Volusia County Jail without bond.
