Edgewater, FL-A 53-year-old Edgewater man, David Cravener, has been arrested in Georgia and charged with 30 counts of child pornography.  The charges are second-degree felonies because some of the victims in the downloaded images are believed to be as young as 5-years-old.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation on Cravener in February after receiving a tip about the downloading of child pornography. This allowed the agency's Child Exploitation Unit to link an e-mail address that surfaced in the investigation.  A search warrant was served at Cravener's Edgewater residence in April.  Investigators seized several computers, a thumb drive and memory stick, a cell phone and various CDs and DVDs.

Once the seized property was analyzed, 30 counts of possession of sexual performance by a child were filed against Cravener. Several of the images contained victims believed to be between the ages of 5-8. One depicted a young girl, believed to be between the ages of 7-10, performing a sex act on a dog.

Investigators served an arrest warrant from Circuit Court Judge Elizabeth Blackburn on Friday. With the aid of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cravener was picked up early this morning in Georgia. He is being held in the Laurens County Jail on $450,000 bond.
