Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) saw some acceleration in airport traffic, which rose 2.4% in February. According to airport officials, 56,684 passengers took flight in or out of county-operated DAB this February, compared to 55,338 passengers last February. “February was another positive month for growth, caused by three factors: load factor increases; capacity growth in the market; and minimal weather impacts in the northeast, with only one reported weather-related cancellation,” Airport Director Rick Karl explains. Airport traffic for the year also increased 1.8%. For the year ending February 28, 2018, 721,831 passengers used DAB, as opposed to 709,029 passengers the year before. “Passenger traffic is up nearly 70% since 2009, and we’re at our highest point in over 21 years. With airlines offering more capacity and the community filling those seats, we believe 2018 traffic numbers will continue this positive trend as we head into the spring and summer,” says Karl.
