Daytona Beach, FL - Investigators are trying to figure out how an abandoned building in Daytona Beach caught fire overnight.

The Daytona Beach Fire Department says the call for help came around 1:15 this morning (March 20th), sending firefighters to 324 Magnolia Avenue. That's just south of the Greyhound bus station on U.S. 1.

DBFD spokesperson Sasha Staton says the building is a total loss.

"This is a two-story abandoned building that was fully involved," Staton added. "Several engines were called to battle the large fire."

Firefighters didn't find anyone inside when they arrived at the scene, per Staton.

"The cause of the fire is currently unknown," Staton noted. "The State Fire Marshal was called to investigate."
