AAA: Gas Prices Drop For 10th Day In A Row

Daytona Beach, FL - Gas prices drop locally and statewide for the tenth day in a row.

Volusia and Flagler drivers are paying an average of $2.77 per gallon for regular unleaded, three cents lower than last week's average, according to the latest AAA report. That also matches the state average.

AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins says the state average dropped by four cents over the past week thanks in large part to growing crude oil inventory.

"Gasoline supplies remained stable despite strong demand," Jenkins added. "Although demand was higher than the week before, it remains below most of July."

Jenkins expects at least one more price jump before the summer ends.

"Summer driving season is winding down, yet many Americans will take one final road trip during Labor Day weekend," Jenkins noted. "The sudden jump in gasoline demand could cause one final bump in prices at the pump."

Local motorists are paying 52 cents more than they did this time last year, according to AAA statistics.
