AAA: 2016 Thanksgiving Travel By Car Up 5% In FL Over Last Year

Daytona Beach, FL-If you're traveling for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday expect crowds however you go. AAA forecasts 48.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home over the long holiday and more than 2.5 million Floridians will be among them. AAA says 2,293,620 Floridians will travel by car and that's up by 5% over 2015. Most Florida residents will travel by vehicle. A total of 2,531, 080 Florida residents are forecast to travel and that's up 4.9% over last year. Air travel by Floridians is forecast at 183,370. That's an increase of 3.9% over last year. The forecast is for the most travelers nationwide since 2007. AAA says in it's forecast press release the travel totals nationwide represent a 1.9% increase overall over last year.
