79-Year-Old Palm Coast Man Dies In Car Crash After Suffering Medical Emergency

Palm Coast, FL - A 79-year-old Palm Coast man was killed in a single-vehicle crash after he suffered a medical emergency while driving along U.S. 1. in Palm Coast. 79-year-old Richard Kuhn was driving a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe northbound along U.S. 1, north of Palm Coast Pkwy. at around 4:43 PM on Wednesday. His wife and his daughter, 77-year-old Joan Kuhn and 51-year-old Tracy Kuhn (both of Palm Coast), were passengers in the car. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says that after Richard Kuhn suffered an unknown medical emergency, the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. Joan Kuhn and Tracy Kuhn were both taken to Halifax Health, according to FHP reports. Joan Kuhn suffered serious injuries, and Tracy Kuhn suffered minor injuries. Richard Kuhn was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol was not found to be a factor in the crash, and there are currently no charges pending.
