Daytona Beach, FL - A 73-year-old Daytona Beach man was stopped by police after handing out cards on the beach that read "Sugardaddy Seeking His Sugarbaby." Richard Basaraba walked up to a 16-year-old Oviedo girl and her 18-year-old friends on Saturday. He handed one of the friends one of his "Sugardaddy cards." The card had an email address along with a description of what he was looking for in a companion. Basaraba proceeded to engage the 16-year-old, even after knowing her age, according to the incident report. Basaraba pulled out a bra padding and told the girl he was looking for someone to fill it. He told her, "you would be the perfect fit" and asked her to contact him when she was 18. The girl and her friends reported being very uncomfortable after the encounter, and they told the girl's mother what had happened. The mother confronted Basaraba, resulting in a verbal altercation. Basaraba began walking off the beach at the Glenview approach. Officers caught up to Basaraba and told him that it was illegal to solicit on the beach. They issued him a trespass order for all Volusia County beaches and asked him to stay off the beaches and walkovers for six months.
