Flagler County, FL - Five people are in custody, and several firearms and different types of drugs have been taken off the streets of Flagler County after a multi-agency law enforcement operation called "Operation Heat Seeker." The operation began in May with a goal to identify and arrest violent felons that were dealing drugs and guns, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO). During the operation, officials recovered seven firearms, including a stolen AR-15 rifle, a shotgun, revolvers, and semiautomatic pistols. Officials also seized marijuana, ecstasy, and over two ounces of crack cocaine. Search warrants were served at three Flagler County locations. Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly held a press conference on Friday with members of the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF); the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE); the Bunnell Police Department; the 7th Circuit State Attorney's Office; and the U.S. Attorney's Office to discuss the operation. “This has been a team effort and I thank all of our law enforcement partners. I have said since day one that where there are drugs, there are guns. We are actively looking for four people that are now fugitives,” says Staly. “I suggest they turn themselves in because we will find them. If they run, they will just go to jail tired." Five people are now in custody, but five other felons will soon be in jail in connection with the operation, according to the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. The felons have a total of 342 previous charges and 92 previous convictions ranging from burglary to homicide. Below are those who have been taken into custody, according to FCSO: Travis D.
