1 adult and 2 juveniles were detained on Wednesday after they fled from Beach Safety Officers then drove into a Beach Safety vehicle in Andy Romano Park.

According to Sr. Captain Tammy Marris with County Beach Safety, it all started with a suspicious smell around 11 AM. "There was some suspicious activity up in the park... there was an odor commonly associated with marijuana, and these 3 individuals were the only ones up there. That's when our officers attempted to try and make contact with them."

The 3 fled on foot when officers approached and got into a vehicle. They then tried to flee in the vehicle and the driver ended up backing into a Beach Safety vehicle. There was only minor damage and no injuries. The 3 were apprehended and are all facing charges.

According to Marris, 1 of the juveniles was on probation. All 3 are being detained, but names aren't being released at this time.
