Ponce Inlet, FL – A man was taken to the hospital after being bitten by a shark while surfing in Ponce Inlet on Saturday.

At around 4:30 PM, a 28-year-old Melbourne man was surfing in about 8 feet of water near the Jetty. The man reported feeling sudden pain and pressure below his ankle.

The injury is likely to be the result of a shark bite on the bottom and top of the man’s left foot. The 28-year-old was taken to Halifax Health Medical Center via ambulance for treatment of multiple lacerations.
