Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Fire Department rescued 24 people stuck in an elevator in the Daytona Beach Hilton on Friday night.

DBFD was called to the North Tower of the Hilton Resort around 9:40 PM on September 16. When they arrived on scene hotel staff told firefighters one of the people stuck in the elevator was suffering from a medical problem.

Firefighters went into the elevator shaft and removed the escape hatch from the elevator, which was stuck between the lobby and the third floor. 2 ladders were used to get the stuck individuals from the elevator to the 3rd floor.

Everyone was safely removed from the elevators. One patient experienced dizziness and weakness, but the other 23 weren't hurt.
