21-Year-Old Deltona Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Wreck In Sanford

Sanford, FL - A 21-year-old Deltona man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred in Sanford on Monday morning, and charges are pending against the Orange City man who was driving the vehicle. The wreck occurred at 6:25 AM Monday along State Rd. 417 at mile marker 50 in Sanford. 21-year-old Lemuel Humphrey, of Deltona, was a passenger in a pickup truck driven by 22-year-old Tyler Courtney, of Orange City. The pickup truck was traveling southbound along State Rd. 417 in the right lane. According to reports from Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Courtney made a lane change into the left lane and lost control of the truck. He then overcorrected, traveled back to the right, and struck a pole. The truck overturned. Humphrey was pronounced dead by the Medical Examiner's Office. Crash reports do not indicate that Courtney was taken to a hospital. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, and alcohol was not found to be a factor in the crash, according to FHP.
