By on June 6, 2018 in WNDB News

DeLand, FL – Troopers are investigating after a 21-year-old Lake Helen man is killed in a motorcycle accident.

The Florida Highway Patrol says it happened just before 7:30 last night on Glenwood Road at Anchor Avenue in DeLand, just west of the U.S. 17/State Road 11 split.

According to FHP, Cole Rhoades was driving a 2016 Suzuki motorcycle west on Glenwood when the bike left the road and hit a sign.

Rhoades ejected upon impact and died soon after arrival at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

It’s not clear at this point if Rhoades was wearing a helmet or if alcohol or drugs are a factor, but FHP believes no other vehicles were involved.
