Riddle Racers Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL-A cross-country airplane race with early ties to Amelia Earhart finishes up later this week in Daytona at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. More than 50 teams of female cross-country air race classic flyers take off Tuesday from ERAU's campus in Prescott, Arizona.

Emmy Dillon, a student at ERAU, flew in the Air Race Classic last year and is excited to be doing so again. She said that being a part of the race lets her combine two things she loves - a challenge and aviation.

The aircraft varies between teams but Dillon will fly a Cessna-172, an aircraft she knows well because that's what she has trained on.

An End-of-Race Meltdown Party is scheduled for Friday at 6 P.M. on a rooftop terrace overlooking DBIA but Dillon invites people to come earlier and watch the racers land. She also encourages teens that are interested in aviation to come to a Meet The Racers youth event on Sunday, from 1 until 3 P.M.
