2 Shark Bites In NSB Bring Total For Year So Far To 14

New Smyrna Beach, FL-Shark bites to two surfers in New Smyrna Beach this weekend have brought the total of bites for the year to fourteen.

Beach Safety Senior Captain Andrew Ethridge says a 32-year-old surfer from Port Orange was bitten on the side near the Flagler Avenue approach around 5:30 PM Saturday. He had minor injuries and refused transport. He also refused further medical care.

On Sunday around 11:30 AM a 21-year-old surfer from Longwood was bitten on the foot while surfing near the New Smyrna Beach jetty. He refused treatment but told authorities he was going to Bert Fish Hospital for further treatment.
