Deltona Shooting Victim, 18, Arrested For Possession Of A Gun By A Felon

Posted

Deltona, FL - An 18-year-old felon, who was injured in a Deltona shooting last month, was arrested on Wednesday after an investigation of the shooting uncovered pictures of the man holding two firearms. According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office (VCSO), 18-year-old Stevie Knight was shot near Fort Smith and India Boulevards on October 23. Knight was transported to a hospital via Air One with gunshot wounds to his arm and shoulder. During the course of the investigation of the shooting, deputies found pictures of Knight holding an AR-15 rifle and a revolver. VCSO later uncovered a magazine for an AR-15 rifle, loaded with nine Remington .223 caliber bullets, in the Ford Focus that Knight had been driving. Deputies also searched Knight's home, but they found no firearms there. Because Knight was deemed a "juvenile delinquent" from a former felony arrest as a juvenile, he is not allowed to own any firearms or ammunition. Knight was arrested on Wednesday for possession of a weapon and ammunition by a felon. He was held on a $50,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing, according to VCSO, and additional arrests are possible.
