Daytona Beach, FL - The roof of a Daytona Beach apartment complex collapsed around midnight on Friday, and approximately 120 residents had to be evacuated. According to the Daytona Beach Fire Department (DBFP), officials responded to the south tower of Overlook Apartments at 100 Seabreeze Blvd. in Daytona Beach after sections of the building's roof collapsed. The collapse caused flooding on every floor of the six-story complex and was caused by structural damage from Thursday's heavy rains. Firefighters were able to evacuate the approximately 120 residents without any injuries to the occupants. According to DBFD, the Red Cross was also called to assist the residents in finding another place to stay until it is safe for the residents to return to their apartments.
