VSO Corrects Sexual Predator Text Notification

Daytona Beach, FL - A Sexual Predator notification sent out countywide today (March 30) to people saying that a sexual predator had moved within 1,000 feet of their residence was sent in error. The Volusia Sheriff's Office (VSO) says the message was only meant for residents within the defined radius of 1,000 feet of 1450 2nd Avenue in DeLand.

VSO did send a correction text this afternoon clarifying the address and the identity of the subject, 37-year-old Parker Sharpley, who recently moved here from out of state. His 2004 conviction was for aggravated sexual battery of a minor in the state of Virginia.
