Volusia County, FL - AAA'S new "Inspector's Best of Housekeeping Award" has been given to nearly 500 Florida hotels and there are a number of them right here in Volusia County. Spokesperson Mark Jenkins said the award is given to hotels that receive the highest scores in cleanliness and condition and they range from small inns and bed and breakfasts to sprawling resort or big city hotel.
Jenkins said, "Cleanliness and physical conditions are consistently among the most important components travelers consider when looking for a hotel." The inspectors score the hotels with a diamond rating system with five being the highest. Volusia County has a number of three diamond hotels and there is one place that has four diamonds which is the Black Dolphin Inn in New Smyrna Beach.
