The University Titans (3-4) will be traveling for their eighth matchup of the season to play the Deland Bulldogs (3-3). Both teams lost last Friday, the Titans losing 19-7 in an away district matchup versus the
Spruce Creek Hawks (3-3). The Bulldogs fell 27-10 versus the Seminole High School Seminoles, giving them their sixth win of the season. The Bulldogs haven’t struggled much this season in terms of offensive scoring, so they look to get back into the win column against a struggling University Titans.

The other 4S District 9 matchup for this week is between the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas (4-2) and the Spruce Creek Hawks (3-3). Last Friday, the Barracudas won a big game versus the Sebastian River Sharks 29-7, which marks the fourth consecutive game scoring 20 points in a game. They have not played any district games to this point, so the Hawks look to spoil them early. Spruce Creek is on a two- game win streak including a district win versus University, after losing 3-straight by 19 points or more.

The Seabreeze Sandcrabs are on a hot streak. Not as hot as the Deltona Wolves 5-0 start, but a very hot impressive streak after starting 0-4. This past Friday, the Sandcrabs (3-4) handled the winless Pine Ridge Panthers (0-7), 42-0 propelled by special team miscues and Sam Gonzalez’s 278 passing yards. The game was 35-0 at half, requiring a running clock for the rest of the game.

Just a few days later, the Sandcrabs hosted the Wolves at Daytona Municipal Stadium. Down 7-20 at halftime, Seabreeze Coach Pat Brown knew his team could play better if they had more focus and energy. Second half began and a new team was on the field. Eli and Denali Campbell connected on a trick wide receiver pass play from Sam Gonzalez for a deep touchdown to help secure a nail-biting victory ending 28-26 in favor of Seabreeze, handing Deltona their third consecutive loss.

This Friday, Seabreeze will travel to South Lake High School to take on the Eagles (0-7). Seabreeze hopes to remain focused after two games in a short amount of time, to hopefully get back to a .500-win percentage.

The Deltona Wolves do not play this week and return to action on the 28th of October versus Pine Ridge, still looking to get their first win of the season.

The Pine Ridge Panthers (0-7) have this Friday off after a tough loss to Seabreeze the week before but play on Monday versus the Mainland Buccaneers (5-1). The Buccaneers led by Daytona Beach Quarterback Club Player of the Week Demarcus Creecy, have not scored less than 22 during their four- game win streak and no less than 34 in the past three games. They look to avoid a trap game during their hot streak, especially this close to the end of the season.

Before Mainland can suit up for the Monday Night Football game at Daytona Municipal Stadium, they must travel to Osceola to play the Kowboys, who are 4-3 on the season. The Kowboys have been winning big and losing small, winning their games by an average of 32 points and losing their games by an average of 5 points. The short week will be a test for Coach Travis Roland’s Bucs, to see if they can play hard with little rest or practice.
