Bunnell, FL - A Flagler County felon with a history of violence is in the Flagler County Jail. Flagler County Sheriff's deputies say that 29-year-old Henry Brock is charged with Domestic Aggravated Battery, False Imprisonment, Felony Criminal Mischief, Tampering with a Witness, Driving While License Suspended, and Fleeing and Eluding.
Surveillance footage from the Old Country Store shows Brock "belly flop" on to the victim's vehicle in the parking lot before punching the windshield and breaking it in several places. At that point, the victim got out of the vehicle, trying to get away. Brock grabbed the driver's side door, closing it on the victim and pinning her.
The victim then fell to the ground as Brock continued hitting her with his hands and fists until she was unconscious. The video shows him trying to get her body into the backseat. At the time, she came to and seems to cooperate with Brock by getting in the backseat. He then gets in the driver's seat and drives away.
Flagler County sheriff's deputies, responding to a call about a physical disturbance in the Old country Store parking lot, see Brock driving the victim's vehicle west on Mahogany. Deputies pursued with lights and sirens for several miles, with Brock ignoring attempts to stop him. Brock was finally stopped when a person driving a pickup truck parked in front of him, blocking his path.
FCSO surrounded the vehicle, giving verbal commands for Brock to exit the vehicle. He did exit and was immediately arrested.
Deputies found the victim in the backseat. Her eye was swollen, her feet bleeding and bruised, and her face was covered in blood. The victim refused transport to the hospital. An attempt to interview the victim found her extremely confused and unable to remember what had happened. During the interview process, Brock repeatedly yelled from inside the patrol car for the victim not to answer questions and not allow deputies to photograph her injuries, attempting to intimidate her.
“This incident could have had a very different outcome,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I believe his intention was to kill his victim and had a witness not call us and our deputies not located them who knows what else may have happened. This is an extremely violent person who has been arrested multiple times. He needs to be locked up for a very long time before he actually kills somebody.”
Brock has a lengthy criminal record in Flagler County, dating back to 2008. Most of the charges pertain to violence with a few drug charges thrown in. Brock's bond is set at $30,500.
