Osteen, FL - Charges are pending as detectives investigate the fatal stabbing of a 43-year-old man in Osteen.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office says deputies were sent to the scene at 360 Enterprise Osteen Road in Osteen around 10 o'clock on Halloween night (October 31st).
VCSO spokesperson Andrew Gant tells us Joshua Rogers was not responsive when deputies found him and that he had stab wounds on his torso.
"A deputy performed CPR until [paramedics] arrived," Gant added. "Rogers was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford, where he was pronounced deceased."
A 49-year-old man whom deputies found at the scene told VCSO he stabbed Rogers in self-defense after Rogers attacked him.
"[The 49-year-old] said Rogers had been in a fight with [Rogers' ex-girlfriend], then left the residence," Gant noted. "The stabbing occurred outside shortly after that."
According to the VCSO report, the 49-year-old is the nephew of Rogers' ex-girlfriend.
No other details have been released by VCSO at this time.
