Deltona, FL - Deputies are investigating after one teenage boy died and another was hurt in a crash in Deltona last night (March 28th).

First responders were called out to the scene at Saxon Boulevard and Urbana Avenue around 10:40 p.m., according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

VCSO spokesperson Andrew Gant identified the teen who was killed as 17-year-old Chester Turck.

"He was the passenger in a 1992 Honda Prelude driven by 17-year-old Zachary Hollenback," Gant noted. "The preliminary crash investigation indicates the Prelude was eastbound on Saxon at a high rate of speed [when it] lost control, crossed into the westbound travel lanes and hit an oncoming Nissan Maxima."

Paramedics took Hollenback to Central Florida Regional Hospital in critical condition, per Gant.

The 37-year-old driver of the Maxima also went to that Sanford hospital. She's since been treated and released.

A 13-year-old female passenger in the Maxima wasn't hurt, according to VCSO.

Investigators say there's no signs at this point of impairment and that everyone involved was wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
