Three Injured In DeLand House Fire

DeLand, FL - One person was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and two others were treated on scene for minor injuries after a house fire in DeLand this morning (December 20). 

Crews from the DeLand Fire Department, Orange City Fire Department and Volusia County Fire Rescue responded at 9:34 a.m. for a structure fire at 916 S. Florida Avenue.

Battalion 80 arrived on scene to find heavy fire conditions throughout most of the home. Firefighters got the fire under control while searching for occupants. Everyone inside the home, four adults, three minors and eight dogs were able to exit the home before fire department personnel arrived on scene.

The home and a majority of the contents were destroyed as a result of the fire. The cause was determined to be accidental in nature.

The American Red Cross is working to help the victims.
