DeLand, FL - For the fifth year in a row, Stetson University is named one of the 385 best colleges in the country. Stetson University Vice President for Marketing Communications Janie Graziani said that only about 15 % of America's four-year colleges make it onto the Princeton Reviews list of "The Best 385 Colleges." She says it's a great honor to be chosen.
The Princeton Review compiles their list using information from student surveys completed at colleges across the U.S. Graziani said Stetson University students are typically go-getters and are very interested in pursuing their college education. She said the degree means a lot to them. Internships, research opportunities and the chance to take part in international study are amazing for the students, according to Graziani. Add to that the fact that Stetson University is very affordable for a private education and she says the opportunities are amazing.
“Challenging academics that help students grow intellectually while honing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills are trademarks of a Stetson education,” said Stetson University President Wendy B. Libby, Ph.D. “A Stetson degree is made more valuable by the experiential learning through internships and research, as well as the opportunities provided for international study. And for a private education, this is all amazingly affordable.”
Graziani said the Princeton Review does not rank the colleges that are on its list. She said a school is either one of the 385 or it's not. Graziani said Stetson staff and students are a close-knit family and that they don't care just about the academics and the education but they care about the individuals, whether they are students, teachers or otherwise employed at Stetson.
According to The Princeton Review: Stetson students describe the school as diverse, with an “abundance of culture radiating through our campus.” This is “a fairly close-knit” group that focuses a lot on community engagement, and “some of the most friendly people you will ever meet.” There is a “huge international student population” at Stetson, which adds “an amazing viewpoint” to the already incredibly tolerant university.
