Shots Fired, Car Stolen Following Heated Argument In Daytona

Daytona Beach, FL - An argument between two women eventually goes sour and yields armed carjacking and aggravated assault charges for one of them.

The Daytona Beach Police Department states that officers were called to the scene Tuesday afternoon (July 7th) with reports of a disturbance with a possible weapon that was fired.

Responding officers eventually learned that the suspect, 22-year-old Nina Lacy-Blue, was engaged in an argument with a woman just a few minutes before officers arrived.

According to the narrative from DBPD, Lacy-Blue was kicked out of the woman's apartment following what they called "lady disagreements." After she was kicked out, Lacy-Blue reportedly took her clothes to the woman's vehicle, a 2017 Nissan Altima, before going back inside to take the keys.

The report states that Lacy-Blue told the victim "your car is took" before leaving. The victim followed behind Lacy-Blue and walked towards the passenger door to prevent her from leaving.

That's when Lacy-Blue began to pull out a handgun, stating "you don't think I'll shoot you?"

The victim tried to grab the gun to protect herself, but she ended up running away. Lacy-Blue then fired a shot at her before fleeing the scene in the vehicle.

Initially, the victim did not want to press charges, but she later changed her mind and decided that she wanted to prosecute anyway.

The vehicle was later recovered by the Ormond Beach Police Department off of Old Kings Road. Lacy-Blue was then arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and armed carjacking.

Records from Volusia County Corrections shows Lacy-Blue remains in custody without bond.
