Palm Coast, FL - What was called in as a 'road rage' incident on I-95 results in the arrest of two people on multiple drug and weapons charges yesterday (May 12). Flagler County Sheriff's deputies arrested 24-year-old Ruvon Washington and 26-year-old Kelvisha Johnson during a felony traffic stop on the northbound Palm Coast Parkway off-ramp.

Deputies say the investigation showed that Washington was handling the vehicle in a careless or threatening manner. Once Washington and Johnson were secured during the traffic stop, officers ran a probable cause search of the suspects and their vehicle. In the back seat, under a blanket big enough to cover a body, they found a black AK-47 type rifle with a loaded magazine of 7.62caliber ammunition beside it. The continued search  found three more loaded magazines for the rifle, a Keltec handgun, a loaded Ruger handgun, drug paraphernalia, and a burnt marijuana "roach."

Drugs were also found in the vehicle. A field test on a white powdery substance found in two plastic baggies, came up presumptive positive for MDMA/Methamphetamine. Suspect Washington told deputies that a white, crystal-like substance found in a prescription bottle was crack.

The incident began when the victim was traveling in the left lane of northbound I-95 near the Old Dixie Highway exit. He told FCSO that a blue Hyundai passenger vehicle was driving aggressively behind him. When he was able to change to the middle lane in order to let the Hyundai pass, the victim said a black male passenger lowered his window and pointed the, what he described as an assault-style rifle.

“Not only did they have an arsenal of weapons and a trafficking amount of drugs in the car, but they carelessly and dangerously exposed a gun to an innocent driver on the highway,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “When you mix guns and trafficking amounts of drugs, nothing good comes out of that combination. I’m glad a caller alerted us to their dangerous activity and they are now in the Green Roof Inn and their poison is off the streets.”

Washington is charged with Trafficking MDMA, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Improperly Exhibiting a Firearm. He's being held without bond at the Flagler County Jail.

Johnson is charged with Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. Her bond is set at $3,500. She remains in custody in the Flagler County Jail
